Climate

The northeastern monsoon from China causes the air to be cooler and less humid during November and February than any time of the year. From May to September, the southwestern monsoon brings the warmer and more humid air from the Indian Ocean, causing higher level of rainfalls in the northern, northeastern, central and southwestern regions.

The monsoons can be unpredictable at times, though normally the southwestern monsoon has its effects from May until February, whereas the northeastern monsoon could have its influence on the country in March or April.
The climates of Thailand can be categorized into 3 typical seasons as follow:

1. Rainy season: Starts from mid May and lasts until mid October. The southwestern winds are blown from the Indian Ocean, stronger in July, causing the country to have the highest level of rainfall in September.

2. Winter season: Begins in mid October and lasts until February. Lower air temperatures and humidity are signs of this season.

3. Summer season: Starts in mid February and lasts until mid May. During this time of the year, the southwestern winds rise the air temperature and humidity. Warmest and most humid time of the year is in the month of April.
