Rayong Province

Introduction
Rayong is located on the east coast of Thailand. The province is about 179 kilometers distance from Bangkok. In general Rayong is blessed with its abundance of beautiful natures. Offshore, there are many islands, which are well-known by the tourist, such as Ko Samet and Ko Mun.

Diving Destination

Dive Site: Hin Pleung

Hin Pleung features two large underwater ridges with the shallowest point of 5-7m from the surface.

- Maximum depth: 27 meters; average depth 15-20 meters
- Marine lives: sea anemone, clownfish, nudibranch and reef fish
- Underwater visibility: up to 10meters (generally poor visibility)


Koh Kudi
Koh Kudi is a small island in Koh Samed-Kao Laem Ya National Marine Park. The mark of this dive site is a large solid rock foundation sloping to the deeper area.

- Maximum depth: 20 meters
- Marine lives : cowfish, batfish, reef fish, black corals and seafan
- Underwater visibility up to 12 meters

Koh Thalu
A small island located 6 km to the east of Koh Kudi. This dive site is famous for its healthy corals.

- Maximum depth: 22 meters
- Marine lives: hard coral formation, sea anemone, gorgonian (sea fan), black seafan
- Underwater visibility 9 -12 meters


Topography
Rayong is marked by a series of mountains interspersed by flat plains and large tracts of land under forest, rubber and fruit plantation. It has an extensive coastline stretching for approximately 100 kilometers, and some 3,552 square kilometers in area.

Climate
The climate is tropical, generally warm and humid with abundant rainfall, average temperature is around 28 C. The best months are November through February.


How to get there

By Car
Rayong can be reached in a comfortable 2 and a half hour drive along international standard highway. Drivers may chose to access to Rayong via several road options as follow
- State Highway Route 34, Bangkok-Chonburi-Rayong and/or connect to State Highway 36 via Pattaya.
- Tolled Motorway along Bangkok-Chonburi and connect to State Highway 36 via Pattaya
- Opting by other state highway routes
