Introduction
"Prachuap Khiri Khan" literally means the city where all mountains joint. The city has a long history as one of the prosperous cities during the Ayutthaya Monarch. In 1845, during the reign of king Rama IV, it was reestablished as a province of Thailand.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is located 281 kilometers south from Bangkok. Due to its uniqueness of landscape, Prachuap Khiri Khan is well-known among tourists for its splendid seaside towns, especially 'Hua Hin'.

Dive Sites: Koh Thalu
Koh Thalu is located 7 kilometers far from mainland. The island is only 2 kilometers
length, covered with trees and tropical forest. There are only 2-3 private residents
on this island. Since Koh Thalu is still preserving its natural habitat, there
are very limited facilities to service tourists. Visitors are advised to bring
their own water and food. Corals can be found in shallow area in front of the
island. The most abundant site is the reef near Koh Sing, where there are hard
corals blanketing more than a square kilometer. Generally, hard coral, staghorn
coral, massive coral and table coral can be seen at this site.

Topography
Prachuap Khiri Khan province covers 6,375 square kilometers. The land slightly
slopes from the west, where Tanao Sri ranges located as a border between Myanmar
and Thailand, to the east where 224.8 kilometers coastlines connected to the
gulf of Thailand. The narrowest part of Thailand, the smallest land boundary
between 2 oceans, known as 'Ko Kod', which is only 12 kilometers from east to
west, is also located in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Climate
As Prachuap Khiri Khan is sandwiched by east and west coastlines, the area is
cool by sea breeze all year round. However, we can expect rains throughout the
year due to northeastern wind and southern monsoon. The average range of temperature
is 16-37 degree Celsius
How to get there
By Car
From Bangkok, use Highway No.35 via Samut Sakorn, Samut Songkram and turn into
Highway No.4 passing Petchaburi to Prachuap Khiri Khan. Otherwise, visitors
may use Highway No.4 from Buddha Monthon via Nakhon Pathom and Rachaburi. The
journey takes about 4 hours.
By Bus
From Southern Bus Terminal at Baromrat Chonna Nee Road, there are public and
private companies that provide services to Prachuap Khiri Khan everyday. Destinations
are Hua Hin, Pranburi, Prachuap Khiri Knan (Muang) and Bang Saphan. The bus

By Train
From Bangkok (Hua Lam Phong Train Station), most trains that operate south bound
can be expected to stop at Hua Hin, Pran Buri, Prachuap Khiri Knan and Bang
Saphan stations. However, it is advised that visitors confirm their destination
